The Home Spring exhibition is a one-stop point for purchasing of home furnishings. Be it a new homeowner, or a prospective homeowner, or even an existing homeowner looking to give his precious home a new look, this exhibition had something for everyone.
An advantage of making a purchase from one of the stalls exhibiting at this event is that families can look forward to special, promotional deals - such as, wholesale price or even factory price for furniture, free installation at home, or even getting a free gift when making a purchase.
I happened to visit the expo on Tuesday afternoon when the place was very quiet and there were absolutely no crowds. Perhaps the pouring rain outside also did dampen prospective customers’ spirits and kept them away?
So here is an image of the entrance to the furnishing fair :
Right at the entrance is a stall displaying white goods such as water purifier, shower heads, and water heater fittings. Unfortunately, I did not see a salesperson at this stall, so I was unable to enquire if they had any special deals, for the occasion of showing at Expo.
Further ahead, was a huge display by Lady Americana, touting their mattresses to be endorsed by some of the biggest heavyweight names in the hospitality industry, such as Marriott, Ritz Carlton. There were multiple beds and mattresses on display. I was told, that some mattresses came with a headboard free. They also mentioned offering free installation of the same.
Further ahead was a display by Unimax Creative, for those owners who wanted to change the flooring of their rooms and refurbish the home. Alternately, people could simply choose to install new flooring, of their own choice, which perhaps was not available in their choice of home.
Existing homeowners have the option to give their home a makeover at a slightly lesser cost, by simply changing curtains and window blinds. This is precisely why the Meridian company had a stall displaying curtains, window blinds, window grills and flooring.
Here is a self-explanatory picture detailing the services offered by Meridian Curtains & Furnishings.
Of course, no home is complete without a wardrobe for clothing. For today’s space-starved homes, Space Maker Lumiera Furniture Pte Ltd offers wardrobes, with a 10 years guarantee. Again, I was unable to make any detailed enquiries here as the stall itself was closed, with the salesperson likely gone for lunch.
There was a stall called Bright House Lighting, that offered lighting solutions for the home, as well as water heaters for the kitchen and bathroom, apart from shower heads. The sales lady there, however, did tell me that only some items were available for free installation. Not all.
No home exhibition can be complete without the biggest market players presence. Of course, I am referring to Max Coil and King Koil, both of whom had displays here.
Indeed, all these sights of huge bed sets, made me wonder about the average, smaller homeowners. And what about the small studio homeowner? Would there be anyone who might be able to provide him with smaller sized, space saving beds? I found my answer in the form of the following stall with the interesting name: Hidden Bed.
There were stalls by Slumberland as well, as Four Star, Englander and Simmons with a huge display of beds and mattresses.
I spotted this couple examining sofas at the stall for Weltmeister Sofas. The sales staff here was extremely attentive and seemed eager to answer any queries.
Evorich is another market leader in the area of home floorings. And true to form, they had a display here at Expo too.
The Orange Cube is another huge stall display and the salesman there told me that they provide home renovations, for all categories of home, namely- HDB Standard, HDB Premium, Condo or even a Resale HDB. Neatly stacked right at the stall entrance were brochures, touting their promotional offers for all 4 types of housing.
For the environmentally conscious homeowner, there was even a stall called Nature’s rest, who claimed their USP happened to be Organic Bamboo Fabric Covers for their home furnishings, which included beds, and sofas (both). Seen in the picture is their promotional offer for this occasion at Expo.
Next up was the stall called The Carpenter’s Legacy which had some beautiful dining sets and sofa sets. Unfortunately, the only sales person here was a Chinese lady who did not know English. So I was unable to obtain much information about their special deals.
There were stalls from Wynn displaying sofas, as well as Ciseern which boasted about their award-winning expertise in home renovation.
One stall that caught my eye was Meta Italian Designs, who had one of the biggest displays for sofas. Not only were the sales staff very attentive, but they politely and patiently explained their designs to me.
All this talk about cushions, and sofas and their need for replacements, got me thinking of Latex which was touted as the best answer to avoid sagging sofas. And lo, there was this stall called myLatex, an answer to my prayers. Unfortunately, they only had latex mattresses and not sofas. Nevertheless, they may be a good option for existing homeowners who are looking to change their old bed mattresses and may want to opt for a latex based mattress and avoid having to replace it, every few years.
Just as I began wondering about the needs of those living in landed homes, I came across this stall for outdoor furniture.
But what is a home with furnishings, if you have not painted the walls in colors of your choice? Behold, stalls for painting homes !!
To conclude, My Home Spring does have an extensive range of options if you are looking to renovate your existing or newly purchased home. The My Home Spring exhibition runs at Singapore Expo until the 28th of April. Do have a look! Am sure you won't be disappointed.
